So, your child loves a good storytelling session? Well, as a lover of the cultural arts and folklore, many people consider me what you would call a griot. What is a "griot" you might ask, by definition a griot is a term relating to West African Storytelling. I am also proud husband and father, of four boys, whom my wife and I currently homeschool.

SLT is an affordable, low cost, cultural literacy program. Serving children from diverse communities, ensuring that each child has a healthy start, in protecting their heritage and image of self from within surrounding communities of Oklahoma County.

Our reading program offers an experiential curriculum, through SOIL GrassRoots Academy a homeschool co-op that helps children develop a love for reading and storytelling, while increasing self confidence and positive attitudes towards life-long culturally centered education.

Who is this program designed for?

Our program offers literary sessions though varying community events and venues on a seasonal basis. SLT provides a theatre style instruction to small groups of 10 and larger groups over 100 children (Grades Pre-K – 12th) from diverse communities across Oklahoma County and surrounding areas

How to book a SLT session?

SLT offers sessions for community groups, organizations, as well as private events (i.e., homeschool groups, community groups, churches, and birthday parties). Please fill out the contact form in the upper left-hand column of this page and we will get back to you to discuss availability.
